9 mm pots ($0.58 each), Marshall knobs (gold and silver), MXR knobs, and 10 mm LEDs.  Like I really needed another reason to place an order this weekend.

Lots of 9mm pots on the new arrivals page - http://www.taydaelectronics.com/new-arrivals.html

Agreed on the 1/8w resistors. 9mm Alpha pots would be great too, I think they've been asked to add them a number of time, to no avail  :-\

On the other hand their 16mm pots are really cheap, so it's easier to compromise (to a certain extent).

Open Discussion / Re: Build Guide Template?
June 03, 2013, 07:58:05 PM
Hey, sorry, I've been AFK a bit. This is what I'm looking for. I can definitely make my own, everyone's just seemed to follow a standard look so I thought there may be an official template out there somewhere.

Thanks!

I think Rod is asking for a "template" to make his own build document using the same structure layout as the Madbean build documents.

I've always assumed bare bus wire would lead to noise issues, but I've never tested the theory. Seen any issues doing this in high-gain pedals?

Open Discussion / Build Guide Template?
May 28, 2013, 05:23:17 AM
I'm sure this has been addressed, but I can't seem to find it. Everyone's build guides seem to follow a general layout and I'm guessing this isn't an accident. Is there a template or a ULP that is used for the standard build guide?

Thanks,

Rod

On the other hand, yay, would have definitely grabbed that.

I was troubleshooting a set of EMG active pickups one day and needed to eliminate the battery as a problem. I don't have another battery and never thought to use a multimeter.

So, I decided to plug my One Spot into the pickups and test. Great! Except I grabbed the wrong cable and fed the pickups 12V AC. :D

I found it to be extremely beneficial to visualize the tone change with the calculator and then actually hear the difference by switching out components.

Doing that really helped my understanding of what people mean when they say scooped midrange or mid-hump.

I've read about the tone stack calculator never played with maybe that is something I will look at tonight before I embark on this journey.

This is obviously something you have to be careful with, but I found, accidentally, that slightly heating the pot can greatly smooth it's rotation.

I'm guessing this is due to the lubricant heating and redistributing. It's probably also a great way to destroy your pot though.
