I ended up just buying a new board, it came today and I'm excited to build it the correct way!

Where can you get the metal enclosures like the Verellen Big Spider (and their larger preamps) come in? The ones where you bolt them to wood sides. I guess the Moogerfoogers are the same way too.

It's from the album cover of Young Widows "Old Wounds" - it's the album that got me back into playing music again.

This looks as it is an addition to a sleve. Colors seem to match.

By the way: there is gold and silver missing for tolerance ;.)

I traded the labor of printing t-shirts for my friend's new shop for a tattoo of a friend who passed away's clothing company logo and I asked while he was doing it if he could quickly add the resistor code to my wrist. The colors do work well w/ the existing stuff that is a start to a sleeve. Here is my whole arm (i still have a lot to go on the sleeve, but buying music gear always takes priority in my life haha):

Thought you guys might appreciate it, most people think it's a gay pride symbol or are completely lost when I explain what it actually is. Still healing - the orange and yellow look the same but once healed it will be obvious they aren't.

I've built this effect before and did not have a problem, but recently I decided to build it again and everything sounds great after I bias w/ the trim pots but every time I disconnect it from a power source and plug it back in the biasing seems to reset completely and i get no sound until I start adjusting the trim pots.

Any idea what might be happening?

I ruined something in the process of desoldering the vactrols and putting a new J201 in.

I'm going to have to just start from scratch once I can afford to buy the board and the vactrols again.

Ahh - I thought to myself too when building it "i wonder if I should keep some of the lead in case they are backwards" - i'll be careful and hopefully I can get them switched around without any problems.

midwayfair - The thump was just "distant" sounding, hard to explain it in words. It's speed and intensity when up / down with controls. Also it's volume when up when the volume trim pot was turned.

stomptown - I positioned the vactrols w/ the "LED +" side facing upwards

I shorted p1 and p2 since I didn't care if it was always on. I used j201s and VTL5C1s - the j201s were from tayda so maybe they weren't great ones? I'll take some measurements tonight but I'm also halfway in desoldering the transistors. Thanks for the quick response though, I'll let you know once I get to the next step.

I've built a ton of projects over the last 2 years. I just built the Cardinal Tremolo from the 1776 board and I get a signal when the effect is engaged, it may be a little more treble tinged but there is no effect on it. I adjusted the trim pots, turned pots in every way possible but nothing. I can hear the thud of the tremolo in the background and the LED and this thud will increase when you increase the rate but it's not getting through to the signal.

Could this be from not biasing the transistors? I didn't socket them, but I'm in the process of desoldering them and putting in some sockets now.

I just wanted to see if this could be due to a different problem.

I think humming is the wrong word for it - it is a solid constant tone and the pitch will change as the sustain pot is turned

I'm building a rat from vero (tag board effects version) and bypass works but when I engage the effect I get a loud ringing / humming that the sustain pot will actually change the pitch of as you turn it before it will eventually cut off

Any ideas?

Saw that, but I'm trying to figure out exactly how to wire them, like where each neg & pos side is wired up
