I was looking for the recent contest thread and it took a while to figure out what was going on.
This post ends my nearly year long 2 month long lurking streak  ::).

What's the fish do?

The fish provides a distraction to the cat playing guitar and thus the cat is periodically thinking about the fish and neglecting his playing duty. This creates a vibrato effect. To obtain different waveform patterns different fish are used.

I built a snarkdoodle up and was testing it before i boxed it.
I didn't work at all.
I troubleshooted for about an hour and just gave up and threw it in my fail pail.
I felt like a failure for screwing up a simple build and was discouraged for building for a few months.

I was poking around on the forums and I somehow realized that I never jumpered my unused boost switch on the build. ::)

Thanks man! I was having trouble finding a clip with the flange switch. Should have known he'd be the one to have done one. Going to check that out now...

I think this might be the one,

I'd love to hear a sound clip of what would happen when all of the pedals are engaged at the same time. ::)

One downside to the wiring in these is, the 3 wires that go to a particular pot are not necessarily next to each-other on the PCB :(.

Hey Alan,

What about this?

Too much of a beast to start with? I was thinking about this one.

A club i'm in has built that and it is quite nice.

You can put a resistor between pins 1 and 2 and another resistor between pins 2 and 3. This can make a pot of a larger value appear smaller. As Jon had said earlier you can only go from larger to smaller.

Here is a nice online calculator to do this.
http://www.diystompboxes.com/analogalchemy/emh/emh.html

Click the 'Linear Pot' link on the side and enter the value pot you have followed by the value pot you want it to be and it will tell you the value of resistors to use. You can also change the taper by mismatching theses to resistors. Try clicking the 'Taper Pot' link for this.

Explained this to my wife. her response: go hide all the dog whistles before the FCC takes them away.
seriously though 9kHz is way too low.

cool enclosure for sure, is it a make before break switch?
I'm not sure, but judging by the appearance/feel of the knob that it breaks the connection before making the new one.

So i found this old VGA switcher when going though old computer parts at work.
We were going to toss it out, but i asked to keep it because I thought I could use the case for a smaller amp I'm working on.

I opened it up and realized this rotary switch just connects the two VGA inputs to a single output with this 2p18 throw switch. On the second picture the 2 position rotary connects all the red wires to either the orange or the yellow wires.

The first thing that came to mind is possibly using this in a Muff to switch out up to 18 part values at once.
Any other ideas on how to use this to its full potential??

Also I found these things are selling on ebay for less than $20, and could make a nice amp case.

That should be the same part (some manufacture call it just a '78L05').
Just make sure the "L" is in there as the LM7805 or 7805 is a larger version of the 'same' chip.

I had a similar experience with mammoth not returning email/phone calls.
I eventually posted something on their facebook wall(after trying to contact them for over 4 weeks), and they got back to me within 30 minute and the issue was resolved shortly after. I still have not purchased something from them since.

TLDR: try contacting mammoth though their facebook page for a quicker response.
