How Do I? Beginner's Paradise. / Can't import schematics to EAGLE

Every single schematic only saves as a .gif file. EAGLE does not recognize these. So I tried saving it as a .sch. There is an error code every time. What do I need to do in order to utilize these schematics in EAGLE? Or do I just do nothing?
