Hello there,

I would like to know if there's a difference between this trimmer and this other trimmer

The Aquaboy DX's says this: "The trimpots are spaced for Bourns 3362P (mouser.com), which are about .25" on a side."

If you want to do phantom powered, you are going to have to provide the phantom supply prior to the effect. If this is what you want, it would almost (definitely) be easier (and more versatile) to build a mic preamp with the phantom power, then feed that to the delay. You cannot go mic -> delay -> preamp/phantom power as that will either not let power get to your mic or "burn it".

The INA217 data sheet circuit does allow for phantom power if that was what you're asking?

What I meant by "burning it" was that I don't know what would happen to the AquaboyDX if I send a phantom powered signal to it: mic -> preamp/phantom -> delay

Hello there,

As you may notice for what I'm about to ask and my previous posts, I'm new to this big DIY'ing passion

In this occasion I came across a question:

I'm setting things up for building an Aquaboy DX. The thing is I plan to use a dynamic microphone with it aswell as my guitar.

Should I consider building a preamp and attach it to the aquaboy's PCB with a "line/mic switch" which decides wheter to pass the signal through the preamp or go directly to the aquaboy's PCB?

Banzai's shipping is worst in my experience.

Just bought some parts from then.

Took an age and they haven't shipped some parts.

They have got a lot worse since last time I used them.

My previous experience with banzaii was about two years ago and it went good.

For what you guys say I asume they got worst

I must say that they shipped some parts to my country a while ago and people in argentinian customs sent it back to where it came from twice.

I had to make banzaii send it to me to Uruguay, my neighbouring country, and everything went well!

You should definitely give them another chance!

Hey there guys!

As I'm from Argentina, bringing parts from the outside is really expensive so I prefer getting all of them from one distributor only.

I've already filled my cart at mouser.com but there's only one thing missing, the vactrol.

Are there any alternatives to the VTL5C3?

It explains the relationship between ESR and ripple current as well as how to find the optimal decoupling cap.  If you are designing circuits this is a must read. Luckily, Madbean does the hard work for us when he designs his PCB's.  If you are a new builder you can just follow the build instructions and not worry about proper decoupling caps, but I still think it's good information to hold on to.
     I also want to mention that your power supply rating is your MAXIMUM power rating. Your 300mA power supply will only match the load necessary to power the circuit. Most projects here require a load of maybe 15mA to maybe 150mA. All you want to do really is find a 10uF capacitor with a greater max VOLTAGE than what is required in the build doc. 35v or greater is usually more than enough. Hello guys!

I'm new to this awesome community and I hope I get better and better through time!

I'm about to start building my first Aquaboy DX and I came across a question: Should I care for Ripple Current on capacitors?

My power supply delivers 300 mA and I can't find any 10uF capacitor with that current flow.
