Open Discussion / Re: Been thinking

Hey man, good to see you back!  You took a huge hit on all sides so good on you for rolling back in (in any form).  I think getting parts is as good or better than ever with a few peeps (stompboxparts) stepping up their game.  Prices are a bit over the norm with Mouser actually detailing what the tariff hit is.

I've transitioned more to repairs than builds these days and there's still all kinds of sources available for anything.  I've had to do a lot of Takamine and Ibanez guitar repairs lately and sites pop up for stuff I figured would be unobtainium.

Damn, another winner.  You have some of my fave demo's: great tone to begin with, no overplaying, nice and direct, and no banter.  Great looking and sounding pedal!!!

Ahhh, that's where the parts tester comes in handy.  I tell myself it's to double check values but in reality I can barely see the color bands on the litte mf'ers

I use 1/8 watt exclusively now.  Which is why my pedals sound like ass.

Oh they do not...I like 1/8 because they're cheap and I use one of those little plastic benders so that the footprint to 1/4 is clean.

Open Discussion / Re: AI music is no longer a joke

Very impressive, but I'd argue it's not really music.  Then again I'm old so music tends to need a melody or a hook of some sort.  Having come thru the Mahavishnu Orchestra only to need to play Sex Pistols and Ted Nugent to audiences to get paid I suppose it's skewed my perception.  I can certainly appreciate it but if that's music then what I do isn't.

And certainly no offense intended.  I love that new mediums are being explored.  The fact that I have a "real job" makes me more judgmental, in that I was never able to sustain myself in a musical career.  I hate to think what my younger self would think of this stuff.

That's so cool, and your usual killer demo.  Great board!

Damn, this is over my paygrade but I certainly support your ambition!  Hope this all works out for you.  I hit retirement and then panicked, especially lately with the current direction of the country so am still working but really wanted not to.  Social Security is not a given anymore and the stock market is wrecking havoc on my nest egg so I figure I'll do what I do best till I can't.

Paul, I'm really sorry to hear what you're going through.  I don't think words can say much other than know how much you're appreciated and I'm really hoping for a positive outcome through all of this.

What a great looking build!!  I had this on my board for ages.

In theory 1/4w resistors should have less thermal noise but at the voltages we deal with I'd think only bats could tell the difference.

Ha!!!! I think not, but I need to go back over mine and make sure I pass the test.  I think I'm so blown out on girls in underwear and babble chronicles that contain little to no value that demos like this are mind bending in simplicity.

Two things that make for a great demo is being in tune and playing clear deliberate stuff.  Your playing is both and sounds great.

Very nice! Excellent demo as always.  I enjoy the fact the pedal speaks for itself, and tastey guitar work is a bonus.
