I built this over several weeks, usually when I had a spare hour or so to devote. I used the PTAP tap tempo and it works really well. The switch is for the tails mod, but I don't see any reason to turn it off! Anyway, great project...fired up the first time.

+1. Top notch, my friend. That is a gorgeous build, inside and out.
How did you get that great ecth?
I'll tell ya how.
He's Madbean.
is this a future 'bean project? or something you can post in the "Extra Projects"? That looks incredible and I'm very interested in building one!
Wow you've really outdone yourself on this one bean. Beautiful!
I need to build one of these bugga's. Brian what do you think of the over all sound of the box?
Peace. J.J.B.
well, i just saw jkokura's Echo Base build report and saw it's the same board. Where do I go to buy the boards?
I think it's musicpcb.com
Yes, it's musicpcb.com. Taylor's work on that board in particular is superb. There are few projects I've even enjoyed half as much as this one.
I'll preempt the questions also - the ptap tap tempo addition is no longer available. Unfortunately there isn't a good, simple alternative available right now. So for those of you wanting to ask how the tap tempo can be added, it's not available any more. The closest thing is the taptation circuit found at diystompboxes. Although, last I heard the store there was sold out. Aron is likely getting more in, watch for it.
could the MV-52 chip smallbear sells be worked in somehow?
Yes, the molten voltage chip is usable, but you'll likely have to work out the application part of it. Thanks for the reminder about that one, I'll have to look at the data sheet again. If I remember right, the MV chip is expensive.
Jacob
It's $10.
Great pedal Brian! I have really been digging mine.
I think he's selling his PCBs on ebay. Here's his page :

One preprogrammed chip included in one of his project + a pdf of instructions emailed.
Haven't dealt with him yet

Hey sorry for replying to an old thread but...
First the pedal looks great!!
Then, how was the tap tempo accuracy with the modulation engaged?
I'm thinking of building a Dirtbaby with tap tempo, and I'm looking for options... The taptation option could work (some have reported good results with a Multiplex Jr, so why not a Dirtbaby?)
Also, what tap tempo circuit did you use?
Let me know if you have the time... and if you remember! :)
