Title: 18v supply for Harbinger - Smallbear
Post by: GhostofJohnToad on April 20, 2013, 08:19:26 PM
so smallbear sells this 18v supply:

According to the Harbinger documentation there are two 18v supplies to consider... Regulated(voodoo Labs) and I'll assume unRegulated like the Dunlop kind.  Would the small bear one be considered an unregulated supply?

That one is an AC supply. You'd have to use a rectifier to convert it to DC, then probably regulate it downward. That might be a bit more trouble than it's worth.

Aw, crap you're right!  Didn't notice that initially.  I think I'll just stick with 9v and my "one spot".   Unless of course someone raves and extols the virtues of the increased 18v headroom.

Well, remember the voltage it runs on will be the same whether or not you use a One Spot and charge pump, or 18v and no charge pump. So, there will not be any significant change in the overall tone.
