Title: Big Cheese in a 125B - the Feta Complis
Post by: plesur on January 26, 2013, 06:20:52 PM
Here's what I've been up to recently, a Lovetone Big Cheese clone in a 125B. I call it the 'Feta Complis'.

It sounds pretty, er, cheesy. It's got the four modes: tone bypass, scoop, hump and cheese. I haven't got the original to compare it to, but it sounds quite close to the demos on YouTube.

My bass player loves this thing on the cheese setting, he says it makes his bass sound rude ;D

The relay bypass is a wider board I made for Jack Orman's AMZ true-bypass relay controller so it could sit on top of the switch right at the front. It's a shame that I've got lots of those little green PCBs he makes for it left over. I'd buy just the PIC chips, but you have to buy 100 at a time.

Very cool stuff.
Shine that enclosure so it'll do those pretty insides justice :D

Ahh gotcha. I have one of his board/controller sets. I need to find a good project to use it on.

I'm not selling in bulk, but I do have a spare PCB because OSH Park makes you order them in batches of three. If you or anyone else wants it you can have it for cost price: $6/£4.  Shipping to the US is about $5. In the UK, £3.

So, totals are $11 US or £7 UK.

Hi guys

Thanks for the interest. I'll order a few more when I next order some prototypes from OSH Park. That means the price for a PCB will be exactly the same as before.

OSH Park now has project sharing, which I have enabled for this project. You can order your own copies of the PCBs for the project directly from there if you like.

Are there any UK guys who'd want one of these? Sort of like a mini group buy as I would like 1, and two other dudes could have one?

Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested.

George.

I always thought this was an envelope filter.

I was wrong.

I have to make me one of these.

I just threw 3 of these boards into an OSH Park order. I will only build one. If anyone would like a board, let me know!

I would like one if you could ship to New Zealand? I could send you another board as a swapsie too maybe, so PM me if you like and we can see...? Cheers

Hey Cooder, in this case I'm mostly interested in offsetting my cost, so an overseas trade probably wouldn't work for me. I don't mind shipping one to you, but the cost to you might be more than having your own board fabricated... not sure how much it would be.
