Title: Deep Blue Delay with Active Pickups?
Post by: LaceSensor on January 17, 2013, 11:14:38 AM
Hi

I build a DBD for a friend, using the sea urchin pcb
he is complaining that it has no delay just a high ;pitched squeal, so he posted it me back.
I assumed in postage something had happened, or he had fried something.

Get it back, unpack, works just fine.
Can only assume its his pickups?

Anyone with experience on this?

thanks

Could it be his power source ?

I have 2 DBD's at home and will test them tonight with my EMG's (81/60 set)

I built the sea urchin and it did not play nicely at all with my EMG loaded SG.  Some distortion and general unpleasantness.  Passives worked fine.  Solved the problem by getting rid of the EMGs.

annoyingly, I know the issue now. It was a low battery and wrong PSU

ran the pedal on a battery putting out 6v and it behaves with a high pitched whine which increases with the mix turning up....
