Title: Part Buying for Bloviator - Question
Post by: AllenM on November 06, 2012, 03:33:34 PM
Hey guys,
Have a Bloviator board and was about to order the ICs then I got all confused on Mouser....

Looking for the TL071, TL072 and TL074 I noticed the letter codes on the end and have no idea what they mean or if they matter...

ACP
CP
CN
IP
BCPE4
IPE4

any guidance would be appreciated!

Try to find the datasheets, they clear up a lot of those codes (and provide some great learning!). Most of it has to do with packaging, temperature tolerance or terminal (the things you solder to the board) type. If my memory serves me well, the only difference between CP and CN is that one is rated to withstand 85 Celsius and the other 115 Celsius (not shure...). If you have trouble locating the datasheets, drop me a PM and I can mail them to you.

Paul

*Edit*
Well, I got my IC's messed up, the temperature thing was probably on a different one... But anyway, datasheets are the way to go! And they link to them on the Mouser site....

CP, CN and IP are pretty common. I use CP and CN interchangeably without issue in most effects.
