Title: Any disadvantages to high voltage rating capacitors?

I am building a vero Klone for a friend of mine and need some of the strange value capacitors (.0068uf and .0039uf). I thought I ordered 25V ones from Mouser, but it turns out I got 250V ones that are fairly large. I can still fit them in my layout without much headache, but it made me wonder if there would be any difference using this compared to say a 16V cap of equal capacitance?

I assume not, but I just wanted to be sure.

Nope, voltage is just a maximum rating. For instance, if you were running 300V though your pedal, the 250's would be too small. But you'll be running +18V at max thorugh a klone, so 250V is totally fine.

Yeah just the size. I got an electrolytic pack/kit from futurelec at one point in time and they were HUGE! haven't been able to make them fit in a project as of yet.

0.0068uF is 6n8F, and 0.0039uF is 3n9F, if that helps. Those are a doddle to find.

smallbear sells 3.9nf and 6.8nf (topmay tcm05 ) ,  not the box style .

I must admit, though, I buy as much as possible from Tayda, and use Smallbear to fill in gaps.
