New guy here, been building pedals for pretty close to two years now. Been using Madbean boards in a lot of my projects 8)
I guess I'll start more recently and work my way back.
First up is the Madbean Afterlife, with the attack mod that I found here on the forum before joining:

Here is a circuit that is loosely based off of the Bazz Fuss, but with greatly different values, different transistor, and a huge output cap to boost any amp:

Next is a project that combines a ZVex Super Hard On into a double Bazz Fuss inspired circuit. The Bazz Fuass side has pregain, circuit gain, master volume, footswitchable oscillation, a 3dpt toggle to take the first bazz fuss out of the circuit, power starve.

And the prototype, this one has the Bazz Fuss into the SHO which was later flipped in the black version of the pedal.

This next one was made very specifically for my pedalboard, it is a 2 loop true bypass looper, followed by a Klon Buffer, into a SHO booster:

This next one was a bit of a joke, but I wanted to make a Big Muff with a Madbean board using nothing but Orange Drop caps. Civil War spec'd:

This one is an optical theremin I put together with power starve and togglable sub octave. I accidentally stepped on it:(
(http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7125/7108453159_11b353b4af.jpg)
This next one was a multiples unit I put together for when I had my Moogs. Just a series of jacks with switchable on/off inputs.
This next one is a point to point version of the Bazz Fuss from up above.

I call this one the VERMIN PULSE. I made it for my wife. It's a Madbean RAT with mods into the Madbean Double Flush Tremolo, with a 4DPT to switch between the order of the effects. Seriously awesome sounding pedal. Really should have planned the wiring better.

Rams Head spec'd Muff with power starve, mids, and oscillation. I loved this one a lot before I traded it.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
Up next is a Cavedweller Deluxe with a 3dpt to switch between two different times, momentary oscilaltion, and a mix control.
After that is a Black Russian Big Muff revamp, followed by a Maestro FZ-1 into Shin Ei FY2, and lastly a Madbean Runt with clean blend and pregain.
Super cool to see your progression! You're certainly not into stock builds are you!
Jacob
thanks man! I think its really interesting to add mods, it makes them so unique and personal ;D
These are great! Come show us your next builds when you finish them.
Most definitely, will do! Just waiting for wire at the moment. Would have finished up the rest of the pedals yesterday if I had some!
Really cool stuff. Interested to know what you could get out of that theramin build? Could you play through it or just creat it's own noises?
Awesome stuff. I LOVE the lolsy Mudbunny. That's just hilarious. It's also kind of cool actually that you don't label ANYTHING.
wow! on the builds
Quite a first post ;D
Welcome to the forum!
Josh
Thanks for the kind words all!

It's a really simple circuit that just uses a 555 timer chip and 2 photocells. It's great to plug into delay and blast off into space! I'm not sure if you're familiar with Atari Punk Consoles, but it's really just one half of the Atari Punk with a photocell instead of a pot
great builds mang.
how do you enjoy the wsg? I've been thinking about building one for a while. I built the drone lab from casper electronics instead of going for the wsg

I loved it while I had it. The mods I did really made it a well rounded synth. Ended up selling it to fund a Moog Minitaur, which then I ended up selling to get a Flower Electronics Little Boy Blue.
With the power starve on the WSG, it could get really really noisy instead of being just blips and bloops and drones, which was awesome
Hey skullservant, nice to see you over here! You should totally post your Mascis tribute Fuzz Factory.
Fantastic builds! What is the finish on the Bazz Fuzz if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks Guybrush! It's Red Vein from Pedal Parts Plus, I think it's a premium finish? Still not bad ($7) for the 1590J enclosure paint fee.

Hey skullservant, nice to see you over here! You should totally post your Mascis tribute Fuzz Factory.
TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THE PEDALS ON MY INSTAGRAM. Thanks for reminding me man!
Here's the J Mascis tribute Fuzz Factory with bigger input and output caps. Now its just raunchy loud like Mascis himself:

This is the Madbean Cavedweller Deluxe I'm putting together, totally forgot I took a picture of it, and totally ran out of wire half way through putting it together. It's got a 4dpt to select between 2 delay knobs, as well as a momentary oscillation switch which dimes the dwell knob, and a clean blend breakout board.

Here's my MusicPCB Tap Tempo Tremolo in the sparkly purple enclosure, which features the tap devide and tempo momentary switches, along with my personal madbean Cavedweller with selectable delay times via the switch that can go from a 100k pot to a 50k pot.

Now this is the big boy that I've been working on for some time. It's a Maestro FZ-1 into a Shin Ei FY2, with two togglable footswitches to go from 100% wet to blended signal, as well as power starve for each circuit. Really excited to get this one wired up!
Wow, there's a lot going on there. You've got some cool stuff going on there.
I have to ask: how to you keep all of the controls straight in your head without labels? Can you remember what each knob does?
Thank you!
And yeah, I usually play each pedal ALOT when I first make it to memorize what each knob does. I also try to stick to common layouts for pedals and mimic existing knob layouts- for Muffs, I stick to Volume Sustain Tone, for delays I do mix then time etc.
It's a little funny when I build for friends, cause they have no clue what everything does. But by not labeling anything, I think it just makes them experiment more and see for themself what each knob does!
Hey, more power to you if you can remember everything.
Cool builds. Welcome to the forum.
Thank you :D
Working on a bass-friendly RAT (from the RUNT PCB) for my bass board. It'll be a total of 6 knobs- volume, pregain, gain, cut, blend, and the Ruetz mod. (Adding the pregain knob because I totally ordered a 6 knob enclosure from Mammoth instead of a 5 knob. DOH)
Here's the populated boards. Was a bit of a dummy and didn't order a radial cap for the 1uf cap for whatever reason.

"Working on a bass-friendly RAT"
You have my attention.
What other bass friendly pedals do you have?
AMAZING!
I'm really interested in your theremin... where did you buy the pcb? project?
Great stuff here! I really like how you went the extra mile on these builds and put in your own ideas. That's what it's all about. The Orange Drop Muff is pretty wicked.
Wow some very cool stuff here!

This is my first adventure into the 'bass friendly' world, although I would really like to venture more into it. I think RATs sound SO good on bass, and the clean blend would not only allow me to keep a lot of low end, but allow me to also blend different fuzzes into it and retain their characteristics well!

I breadboarded it from this schematic and then added my own mods to it as I went:

Thanks Brian!! It means a lot. The Orange Drop Muff sounded killer, although I think I could have increased the output capacitor, it wasn't nearly as loud as my original Sovtek Civil War, but I did have to fudge some values to get them pretty close with what Mammoth had at the time

Thank you very much ;D
Yep really cool builds mate, and welcome!
I may have to build one of those theremin/ATP thingies for myself.
Noisemakers FTW!
Good grief these are just some great builds in here.
And when you get as old as me you better label those damn knobs :o I can barely remember what I did last weekend :P
Thanks to both of you!
I think the theremin would benefit from going through a pickup simulator to go from line level to instrument level. Sometimes it gets a little unbearably loud, but totally cool and spacy with delay!
And TN- it was funny, I went to do a demo of the Tap Tempo Tremolo over the weekend, and I was listing each knob, and it was HILARIOUS. Rate, Depth, uh... erm... BLEND
With respect to the theramin a dude over at BYOC, Insonicbloom, designed a circuit and fabbed some boards. There were a couple cool links on it over there somewhere if you were ever interested. Don't know if anything would be on point for you though. He might even have a few left if anyone is interested.
Oh cool! I'll have to look into it and the schematic he's using and possibly a board just to try it out. They're definitely fun little toys. I like making them with speakers in them so I can take them out and show them to friends and have them play them!
Cool sketch of J. Mascis on the inside of the Fuzz Factory! Awesome!

Right now there is an open thread in the DIY section where Phreek just finished one up. Fyi
This guys webiste who designed the circuit is here http://paulinthelab.blogspot.co.uk/
Oh cool! Checking it out now
I agree, a RAT sounds great on bass!
Instead of the pre-gain pot you could also replace the second feedback resistor with a 1K pot. This is what fuzzrocious does on his Rat Tail and Bassplayers seem to dig it.
Yeah I'll have to try that-
I got the Runt together but its got an extremely low output volume. Going to go back over all of my joints and see if that was the issue. I took the clean blend circuit out of the Rat so I could use it to finish up the Cavedweller Deluxe I was working on, but I plan on hopefully getting the Runt back to 100% by the end of this upcoming week.
In the meantime, here's what I was up to today:
Cavedweller Deluxe- 2 selectable delay times with bicolor LED. Clean blend. Momentary Oscillation.

Also got a lot of the initial wiring of this giant fuzz done, just need to get board standoffs and I can wire the rest of it up

Finally, got all the holes drilled and the hardware mounted for this Mega Muff I'm working on revamping.

I guess that's enough work to show after 9 hours of work. I would have liked to have finished the big fuzz today as well, but you know how that goes.
