Title: Electrolytic substitutions
Post by: alanp on March 28, 2012, 04:28:21 AM
I'm working on a Lowrider PCB, and am short the 1uF electrolytic capacitors, and only those capacitors. (Don't it figure?)

I've got 1uF box film caps (rated at 63V) and 10uF 25V electrolytic caps on hand. Can I substitute one of these? I also have some 4u7 electrolytic capacitors, would those be best?

It's just it's a week's wait plus shipping for Tayda, which is the fastest...

The 1uF box caps should be fine provided you can fit them into the board. Looking at the layout, they should fit OK if the leads are long enough.
