Title: DC Jack question
Post by: pryde on March 15, 2012, 12:06:15 AM
Ordered a few plastic DC jacks (2.1mm) but these have a metal nut instead of a plastic one. Looks like these:

I assume these work the same as the plastic-nut type and there wont be any grounding issues?

Thanks

Nope, no issues. I bought a huge pack of those on eBay and have been using them on all my builds. The jack itself is plastic so the metal nut doesn't change anything.

I've found that the metal nuts are easier to tighten than the plastic ones. Since its usually my last addition, I'll tighten it by pushing the nut with pliers rather than griping and turning. The metal ones are great for this cause they won't break!
