Hi everybody and thanks Mr Madbean for your good work on the DMM!I've built two DBD, one with two MN3005 (desoldered from vintage devices) and one with 4 MN3008 with two layouts from my work posted many years ago on FSB forum! The delay with 4xMN3008 is beautiful, organig and give a little more delay than two MN3005,but it was very difficult to place the little layouts for the 3008 mod!
My request is for a dirt bag layout with 4 bbd so we can build the delay with Mn3008 (more available and cheapest than MN3005) or 4 MN3005 for a 1100ms delay and the lucky man that own it!
I post the mods!!!!!!
Wow. You posted this while I was typing up a similar request:

Freaky! :o
Explain me more !!!!!!! The mod for 1100ms is a board with two mn3005 above the another Mn3005 on the main board ???????? That is awesome :o ;D
If you put a little board with two mn3008 in place of one MN3005 you have the same delay time(or a little more)! If you place the board with two mn3005 you have the double of delay! So if put two boards with 4xmn3008 you have 600ms delay or 1100ms delay with 4xmn3005!After you make the mod try with a 150k or 200k pot for delay to reach the max delay time!!!!
The only potential issue with retro-fitting a breakout board to the existing PCB is proximity of the BBDs on the board to the clock. But, if you use some pin standoffs to raise the 4x BBDs up a bit that should prevent any clock noise from creeping into the signal path. You just have to use a taller enclosure, at most.
Same thing happened with at least a couple of people who did the double delay mod on the old Aquaboy board---the added BBD could be made to hover right over the clock if proper standoffs were not used which resulted in the noise.
I had a picture somewhere of how I did mine---I used some pins to raise the breakout about 5-6mm or so and had no problem with that.
Yes Madbean, i did the work like the other DMM original clone layout (buid it years ago) without click noise!8 pins of 6 mm but in the dirt bag i placed the second bbd layout on the right with more longer pins with many problems to find a enclosure!Another solution is to reduce the size of the little bbd board by redrawing it with a double face pcb and a vertical trimmer! In this case the two bbd boards can be mounted directly in the DBD without any problem!I have no time now to do it but if anyone is interested to do the job it would be awesome!
