Title: Zombii - novice help with troubleshooting
Post by: williamshatnerspants on August 23, 2010, 12:21:11 AM
Hi,

Firstly a thanks to anyone can offer any help, its much appreciated.

My first pedal build went well, up to the point of testing!

I get no LED (have checked its the right way around, and that the LED lights directly off a 9v battery), a small amount of pypassed clean guitar sound, a loud humm and various squeels and noise when turning pots (all pots appear to work). I have no audible distorted guitar sound.

here is a link to some photos:

As you can see its all done 'on the cheap' with single coloured wiring and big cheap pots. I'll work out the ergonomics at a later date.

Thanks
Matt

That's a lot that's wrong!

I would suggest that you first double check all the wiring, then check it again. Examine all the soldering, maybe see if you can make sure that it's done right. Then examine the wiring and double check it again. Check all your parts, make sure they're the right way around. Then come back and tell us what's what.
