Title: Madbean Switching board + VFE Dragon Hound Trouble
Post by: chaives on April 14, 2025, 01:14:53 AM
I'd purchased VFE's dragon hound files and had the SPS board fabricated without getting the switching board with it. Got the Madbean SPS switching board and got it populated and everything connected but now there's no bypass sound.

In the pic with the LD pad soldered to the LO pad, there was no effect sound but bypass. But I currently have it soldered to the HI pad, where it's the opposite and I'm wondering is there another connection I should make between the main board and the daughterboard?

Looks like you have it wired incorrectly.

You do not need to connect the 9v, BU or LO pads, but you do need to connect the HI pad (that's the voltage supply for the LED trimmer and LED).

So the following need to be wired to each other:
IN, -V, GD, +V, OU, HI, FS

And, make sure you used the correct jumpers on the bypass board according to whether or not you used the latching or non-latching relay.

I desoldered the 9V and BU pads and switched the LO and HI ones but the sound is the same. After reading another post, I'm thinking it may be the latching relay, as I get a very faint dry signal when I press my thumb into it. But it'll be a second before I can test it as I'd have to order another one
