Title: Tom Verlaine
Post by: Paddyosonic on January 30, 2023, 04:53:39 AM
Now Tom Verlaine is gone. One of my all-time favorite guitarists. Hearing Television's "Marquee Moon" back in the late 70s, completely changed the the way I approached guitar. The interplay between him and Richard Lloyd and the dedication to technique over effects (yeah, I know, this is a pedal forum) was truly striking. Damn! Most of my musical heroes are gone now. Glad I got to see Television on their early '90s reunion tour.

I know, right? I was saddened to see this yesterday as well. I just happened to be scrolling though NPR news and saw the news. I even named a pedal I built after that first album as its sound reminded me of their more overdriven live moments.
