Title: Catalinbread Project Questions - DLS/SFT
Post by: aziltz on August 06, 2010, 01:07:33 PM
Hey Madbean and friends,

I've been breadboarding a new design that's based on the Catalinbread SFT/DLS method of chaining MuAmps together with Filtering between them.

The only real difference is I'm attemping to use SRPP stages instead of MuAmp stages.  I'm noticing some note "fizz" that comes on with the attack and fades out before the sustain does.

Has anyone noticed something like this on the DLS/SFT builds?  I'm hoping to confirm that it doesn't exist in those projects.

I'm still toying around with the gain and frequency response of each stage, trying to get a low gain but bright sound similar to the DLS but using SRPPs for better performance.

Thanks for your help!

I think I may have found an error, I've been taking my SRPP from the drain of the bottom FET instead of the Source of the Top FET.

Thanks for those references Madbean!
