Title: Bloviator RIP - Any alternatives?
Post by: Guybrush on February 04, 2022, 11:46:38 AM
Hi all

I've got a friend wanting a Sonic Stomp in a small enclosure . Now that the Bloviator has been discontinued  :'( does anyone know of any other boards that are available that will fit in a 1590a?

Cheers.

I shared some SMD projects on oshpark, including a Sonic Stomp. All these boards are about the size of a US quarter.

Wow, these are amazing. Great work. I'll definitely be ordering some. Thanks.

I can check and see if I have any of the 1590A left over. This is one of the ones I plan on re-releasing but it will be 1590B.

Just had a browse.  Thanks for labeling your pcbs uploaded in a way that makes perfect sense - ie, with the name of the effect.  So many projects up on Osh that make it impossible to work out what it is.

Hello,

Could I ask what size SMD is used for this project?

Thank you!

I tried to open one of the BOM files and it doesn't have a file extension. I tried Google docs but that didn't work. What file type are they?

I'm not sure. It is what Eagle exports. The file opens with "textedit" on Mac and should do the same with whatever the equivalent would be on a PC.

Mostly 805 with a few 1206 for larger caps.
