Title: 1/4 w resistor on the RabbitHole
Post by: David665 on January 16, 2022, 04:29:08 PM
The BOM shows three 1/8w 100 ohm and one 1/4w 100 ohm resistor. However, there is no documentation on which resistor is the 1/4w. Does it matter as long as there is a 1/4w resistor in the circuit?

R24 is the 1/4W resistor (the one connected to the 9v power supply).

Derp, it's larger on the silk screen, even. Thanks for the reply tho.

I am curious, why is this one resistor 1/4w? Is it because R24 needs to dissipate more power than normal as power is passing through it directly from the power supply?

Correct. Although the current draw is fairly low and a 1/8W would probably be okay there's no good reason not to use 1/4W if space allows for it.
