Title: Identifing NPNs
Post by: ddragon64 on July 09, 2021, 12:18:49 AM
So my dad had a bag of NPN and PNP transistors.

Is there any way to identify these? At least to know what type. There are no markings on them at all.

I use one of these component testers which will give you type and pinout as well as Hfe reading and leakage. Handy to have and not expensive. There's lots of other component testers out there, more flash and expensive ones too.
This one has worked well for me so far:

Yup, I use something very similar.

That'll do nicely. Just have to find one in stock or that ships to the US.

Thanks guys!
