Title: Teachers day gift
Post by: Thewintersoldier on May 10, 2021, 05:49:51 PM
The media specialist at my kids school is a really cool guy. Mr. Steve doesn't have a last name cause it's super hard to say. He listens to rock and blues, plays harmonica and wears Hawaiian shirts almost everyday and always has a cup of coffee. He teaches technology and is the A/V guy and librarian. Since the pandemic started he's also the online problem solver and subs for my kids teachers a lot. I found out he liked the show Stranger Things and used my pedal enclosure skillz to make him a teachers day gift last week, since he's not a specific teacher he never gets anything, and if anyone deserved it, he did. He was so excited and said his wife who was a teacher was going to be so jealous. I snatched the stranger things font and used the logo from the a/v club in the show merch. Super happy with how it turned out. No film waterslide for the win. Also If you still haven't seen stranger things watch it!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210510/8e73b3c2b896424ff6a416a94573db0e.jpg)

Nice! There was a science teacher at my high school like that- Hawaiian shirts, chuck Taylors, cool guy. He was my home room teacher and he used to play Dr Demento tapes every morning. He always talked about how he got struck by lightning twice, and he was the advisor for the Monty Python movie of the month club, which consisted of my older brother, his dork friends, and me as a tag along. We'd watch Monty Python stuff, national lampoon, and Mel Brooks movies after school. Good memories

Very very cool. Highs choo is a blur for me, otherwise, I'd probably have a cool teacher story too.

Thanks guys, cool people deserve cool stuff and Mr. Steve is the man. I got to chaperone the full day Detroit Zoo field trip with him and my daughter's class a couple years ago and he made it a blast. Plus anyone who puts up with our crotch goblins deserves the world!

Crotch goblins.  My new fave saying :-)

I continue to be blown away with how cool that decal approach looks.

Great design and a really kind gift.  Few people deserve more support these days than educational staff.  Right on!

The best builds are often gifts we give others, because we put extra care and effort into them! I love the story, and I think it looks great!

That's so wonderful. The people we appreciate really deserve our attention. And gifts are a great way to show how much we appreciate them. I know how much teachers invest in children. My mother is a math teacher, and I watch her at night sitting in front of the computer and checking students' assessments. She wants everyone to reach their full potential, and she helps them. Not necessarily that children notice this, because they have no way to do it. But the parents pay attention to it, as in your case. The last time a mother offered my mom a big box of pick and mix sweeties (https://www.manvsweets.co.uk/), it was so cute. My mom loves this colorful and sweet stuff.
