Is anyone using a Redeemer Circuit? I'm considering installing one in my Strat. http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/redeemer/
Also, has anyone tried a Holy Fire? http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/holyfire It uses a 48V PS :o
Hmmmm somebody mentioned that to me just the other day... he was raving about the 'inline' redeemer as a buffer. I had a quick hunt for schematics but couldn't find any, other than the patent (http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20080068049.pdf) which has no values.
I had a guy at work let me bring home a ton of his pedals and one of them was the Holy Fire. When I fired it up it was holy rattle my guts. That thing rocked. I had to back way down my Fender HRD.
I wish I could give you a pro review but I simply couldn't turn that thing up to properly test drive it. That and I returned it the next day. But I did like what I heard. I may ask him to borrow that pedal again for a week so I could really dial it in for me. Will get me some ear plugs too :o
Thanks for your insights fellas. I've heard nothing but good things about these guys.
I came across the Redeemer a few years ago when I was looking at a souped-up Les Paul on eBay. The seller seemed knowledgeable and at the time, I was impressed with the demo videos. But now that I know more about electronics/DIY, $50 seems steep for an enclosureless effect. Apparently it's just an FET buffer, so google that if ya want more info ;)
FWIW, bass players really like onboard buffers. Think I'll look into it. Wonder how it'd affect a Fuzz Face...
