Title: Mimik 15nf cap question
Post by: mcallisterra on August 15, 2019, 04:36:41 PM
I recently got a friend of mine into building, and he purchased a Woodstork and Mimik to get started with. Somehow we missed out the 15n caps for the Mimik on the parts order, but I have a handful of 10n caps; would these work for C5, C12, and C15 in the Mimik, or does he need to put in a new order for the 15n caps?

Thanks!

All three of those capacitors are connected to ground, so they'll be acting as low pass filters (sending highs to ground). Smaller values will raise the cut-off frequency: the repeats will be a little brighter. The effect will still work. You might notice more hiss in the repeats than you would with stock values.

Do you have any 4n7s left over?  You could solder one with a 10n in parallel.

That's a good idea, but unfortunately I don't. Looks like we're placing another order. Thanks!
