I was trying out some new printer paper for enclosure etching. Turned out a huge failure, but I had all the gear out for messing around with salt solution so I started playing around with that like a mad scientist with a arc welder
Test 1 was a 6v battery and that was a joke (slight fog)
Test 2 I snapped 2, 9v's together and hit it. This time i masked off a area to see a definite line
At this point I was ready to clean up and go towards a copper sulphate solution tomorrow.
I look over and see soy sauce on the counter. Hmmm
Test 3, 18v & soy sauce. Believe it or not, it had the best reaction so far and a little quicker.
Tomorrow the copper sulphate comes out along with bench power
I can tell you're having some fun and your wife doesn't know what's happening.
What does this allow you to do? Is it for etching an image or will you be doing some plating? Either way, I'm interested to see what this is!
It was supposed to be a graphic etch test but the paper failed
