Title: Sabretooth build
Post by: jez on July 12, 2010, 11:53:09 AM
Hello, I am currently getting all the parts toghether for a sabretooth build. Went to my local maplins in the uk for all the parts. The only thing they didn't have was a 2k pot for the fuzz control. The closest they had was a 1k pot. Can anyone point to where I could get one or a work around?

Cheers

Jez

Yes. The way I did mine was to use a 5k, then put either a 4k7 or 5k1 resistor across the two outer lugs of the pot. This reduces the value of the pot to around 2k5, which works just fine.

Thanks for the reply, could I get away with using a 4k7 pot or would this require a different resistor? As they don't do a 5k, and Id like to get all four pots to be the same design if possible. Cheers

4k7 pot and 4k7 resistor in parallel will yield about 2k4 so that will work fine.
