Geez this is frustrating. Can anyone walk me thru programming a 24LC32A with a Pickit2? This is specific to drolo's Molecular Disruption Device. I've got the software (Pickit2 v2.61) running on Win10 and I keep getting "Programming failure at EEPROM Address 0x000000" errors. I seem to be able to read the chip OK. I created the HEX file directly from SpinCAD. I've tried a number of different HEX's as well.
Thanks
Did you look at the guide I believe he posted in the build doc? I haven't bought a PIC2 yet so youre more advanced than me.
I did Brian and it's not complete but really gets you going in the right direction. Here's where everything gets weird. My laptop was originally setup for a Pickit3 and associated software when this whole fiasco started. I'm an IT guy that deals with hardware and software so I figured this was a no brainer. Installed the Pickit2 software (no longer supported). Fail.
So I get home today (not that I would dare work on this stuff at work) and install Pickit2 software on my workstation and viola...the hex I created from SpinCAD forum patches slides right in and boom...it works.
Unplug the interface. Plug into the MDD. Wonderful sounds from the FV-1. I really like this chip. It's capable of all kinds of zany but I really like it for the subtle stuff. Really clean echos and reverbs and really nice chorus and flange that are great for people who are tired of old-school chorus and flange (I'm not, but this is very cool "is this thing on?" thickening type stuff.
So all is good. I'll keep this thread running as I figure out how my laptop is buggered (both machines running Win10). I'll sum it all up with a tutorial so fellow PIC noobs don't have to sweat details. REALLY like the FV-1, or did I already mention that?
Awesome. The pedal is great sounding. Where did you buy your Pic2? and I wil be looking for your tutorial because I am pretty much computer dumb.
