Title: The Wave Spring Reverb Kit
Post by: peAk on March 07, 2017, 03:00:48 PM
Anyone built one of these?

The demo on youtube sounds great and I really need/want a spring reverb.

Thoughts?

Okay....so nobody was familiar OR interested in this.

That's OK.

I just ordered the kit and will report back the progress. I  am psyched. I have really wanted a tube spring reverb forever and this really seems to be exactly what I was looking for.

Sorry I missed this! The Fender 6G15 is the granddaddy of stand-alone valve reverb, and there are some links in the schematic between the 6G15 and the WSRK, although I see they have managed to scrap the 6K6GT valve in favour of a paralleled 12AX7 (easier to source, I guess.) The output is also different -- the 6G15 has a tone control for the reverb out, and a Mix control between Dry and Reverb Out. The WSRK has a constant level for Dry Out, and a volume knob for the Reverb Out, not a Mix control.

This is all if I'm reading things rightly.

I'm interested...but don't have any personal experience. Definitely looking forward to your report; this has been sitting on my wish list for a while now.

Yeah, I thought about building one of those 6G15 but I like how this one sits in a rack and is studio friendly with its line level rca. I can run my Pigtronix Keymaster to keep a dry level and reverb separate. I wasn't particularly found of the demos on the site but this one sounds amazing.
