Title: Mimik not working
Post by: phillip_h on June 29, 2016, 04:07:52 PM
So, I screwed up. When I was boxing this thing up, I wired the power jack backwards. I guess I read the label on the PCB wrong.

Anyway, I corrected the wiring and the pedal is passing a signal when bypassed and engaged, but there's no effect. Did I fry the PT2399 or something?

Did you compare your voltages to the ones listed in the build doc?

I checked both ICs and the TL072 looks good, but every pin of the 2399 is reading between 8.5-9v.

Your regulator needs to be replaced. It may be related to the error you made in wiring or not. If you are reading good voltages on the other IC then your protection diode did its job...so it probably is your regulator causing the problem. What did you use and where did you get it?

aaaaaand I'm an idiot. I didn't even install (or even buy) a regulator. I completely overlooked it. Nevermind, nothing to see here...

Believe it or not, this is not my first build or even my 10th build. It is my first delay, though...

Yesterday I was walking up to my car and noticed step runners under the door (Jeep). I thought to myself "you know, I never really noticed those before...that's cool". Then I realized I was about to get in someone else's car. Point is, it's easy to miss big things when you are focusing on small ones (and vice versa).

Update: I installed a regulator today and it works perfectly.

I believe the jeep story might be the deepest thing I've read in ages.
