Title: Re: Need some REAL help...
Post by: K3yPr0gg3r on April 26, 2016, 11:32:06 PM
Hi,

So, I'm trying to understand a few things concerning wiring boards. Not sure if anyone out there has used Barry's, (GuitarPCB), stuff, but I'm a bit confused on the DPDT. Not sure how the attachments work, but hope people can see it. This is a jpg of the DPDT wiring board being used to switch between two sets of diodes with the OMG-Mongoose PCB. Red circle is around a set of 1n914s, and the green circle is around what looks to be a set of 1n4001s. 1. If using this wiring board do I omit the diodes on the PCB itself? 2. Why are there two diodes in each place vs just one?

Thanks

1. Yes, omit the diodes on the OMG board.

2. Diodes are installed "back to back" to clip both halves of the signal.

This article might help understand clipping more.

Everything on that site is worth reading.
