Title: Naughty Fish notch filter?
Post by: BassXtreme on April 18, 2016, 05:01:02 AM
I'm using a 3 pos. rotary switch for LP/BP/HP. Can I use a 4 pos. rotary to add a N (notch filter) position to simulate the Mutron III+? I think I read somewhere you can add a resistor and combine the LP and HP wires to the 4th position that will give the notch effect. Can this be done?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a state variable filter (HP, LP, BP) outputs. I don't think you could achieve a notch response by adding passive components. To my knowledge, you would need to add a summing amplifier stage to bring together the HP LP frequency cutoffs to get a notch response.   Hope this helps...
