Title: L78l05... Why...
Post by: Luke51411 on April 15, 2015, 02:31:41 AM
I've used them many times successfully though I still feel paranoid every time like I have to confirm pinout through testing. I don't know why I don't just start buying regular 78l05 and just stick them in as the layout intended. I don't know why but this is driving me crazy right now... The datasheet is confusing too. They are opposite pinout correct?

Opposite of the full-size 7805, yeah.

I'll tell you why I don't trust them: the Gaussmarkov EAGLE libraries had the 78L05 set to the same pinout as the 7805, and it caused me a great deal of troubleshooting grief because I didn't consider that the library itself could have a mistake.

I trust them now... but only in my own layouts :)
