Post by: copachino on April 04, 2015, 11:00:59 PM
hi, all i have never record something by myself, and want to try something (on boring days) nothing big just record myself, i bought a line 6 gx, the smallest one, and seems quite simple, but should i use it direct to my pc---podfarm---recording prog, or the best its to mic the amp and then go to the interface??,

I have one of those.  You can get some OK sounds out of Pod Farm if you're willing to tweak it.  If it's just you messing around, then that's probably the quickest, easiest route.  Of course it depends what kind of tone you're trying to get.

I have a line 6 ux2 and I've found I get the best sound if I use some sort of clean pedal before plugging into the interface. Lately it's been either an Xotic SP compressor or my Ego Driver (ocd) with the gain down.  Maybe it's because I'm used to the way the guitar reacts to those pedals as opposed to the circuitry in the interface.
