I even managed reasonably clean guts! Even though I had no output at first as I hooked the input to the switched contact instead of the tip. These jacks are confusing...

I'm proud to say that I approved all of those things. I was going to use the small davies knobs but I just ordered a bunch of random knobs from mouser and happened to have those 3, seemed to work perfectly.
