Title: Moodring question - blend/mix
Post by: mcasemo on January 10, 2015, 04:24:55 PM
Had a question on the moodring before i start planning/building.  Is there an easy way to convert the dry kill switch to a mix/blend pot?  could i just put a pot across it instead of a switch?

Cheers,
Mark

I guess what i really mean is to convert it to a dry signal level pot.

Yes. Here is how I would do it:

Reduce R4 to 12-15k. We need to give the Dry signal somewhere to go.
Wire pad1 of the Dry switch pad to lug3 of a 50kA pot.
Wire pad2 of the Dry switch to lug2 of the pot.
Wire lug1 of the pot the the Vb power supply. You can do this by soldering the wire directly to the + pad of C36, or you can follow the trace outlines of the PCB to find the most convenient spot.

We wire that lug to Vb so that we do not have to put coupling caps between the two parts of the circuits. Now, all points of the new pot are attached to about 4.5v so there will be no scratchies when it is turned up and down.

Thanks Brian!  you have now answered all my annoying blend/mix clean kill questions, much appreciated.  I have a friend who uses these pedals for mixing, so the clean kill is always useful for him.
