Title: kokbox and darkside
Post by: yomanfree on May 17, 2011, 10:47:43 PM
Hello
my new pedal: a darkside + kokbox in the same enclosure. Photos attached.
The idea was to have a box with a high depth for the rear of my pedalboard, and use this depth to enclose 2 circuits.
For the darside, I've replace the standard SUS pot by a 500K + 1nF as noticed in the madbean pdf. Concernig diodes used: BAT41. I've tried a lot of diodes, and this is by far the best choice from my opinion.
For the kokbox, no specific mod.
Based on G-2 video, the sound of the darkside seems quite close. The overdrive/fuzz are effectivelly dark, I like.
The sound of the kokbox : a lot of disto, but I think this pedal is not fully for metal (even if you want to remove a lot of medium, it is not possible with this pedal). I like the sound of this pedal and mainly when the medium button is near 0. A pedal to try !

A bientot
