Title: 4n capacitors?? (MudBunny Mayo & Rams Head)
Post by: Mojo Fandangle on October 07, 2014, 11:35:56 AM
Hoping somebody can help me with this.

C10 of both the Mayo and RamsHead Mudbunny builds call for a 4n capacitor.
I've sourced every other part for these builds but can't find any 4n caps anywhere
I'm assuming 4n means 4nf, yeah?
I found plenty of 3.9nf capacitors. Will these do, and can 0.1nf difference really matter?
Does a 4nf capacitor even exist??

Thankyou in advance to anyone who can help me out.

I'm sure that if you measure your 3n9 caps you'll find that more are 4n0 than 3n9...

Yeah use a 3n9. 4n is pretty much impossible to get hold of these days.

If you get 10% tolerance caps, a 4n will range 3.6n to 4.4n.  I doubt that the originals used anything much tighter than that.

If you buy 5% 3.9n caps, it'll easily fit within that range.

Thanx heaps peoples, 3.9n it is then.
I'm a bit obsessive about exact parts so you've definately put my mind at rest.
Thanx again
