Title: Silverfox - Less drive, More Volume
Post by: the3secondrule on May 03, 2011, 12:39:07 PM
so, when i was boxing up my silverfox, I inadvertently mixed up the volume and gain pot, and used 100kA for Gain, and 1mA for volume - this gave me much less drive, and a whole lot more volume - pretty much exactly what i was looking for. I realised my mistake, and corrected the pots, but I think I like it better as it was - a slightly gritty boost/OD with nice tonal options via the internal trimpots.

just wondering if there would be any adverse effect (in terms of impedance, etc) of going back to 100kA for Gain, and 1mA for volume?

Cheers,

J

Maybe. It really depends on your signal chain after it. You could certainly lower the volume down to 500kA but still retain the added output.
