Title: MXR M104 Distortion+ for bass
Post by: copachino on August 08, 2014, 01:51:36 AM
can it be adapted for bass??, i was thinking on changing C2 for a 4.7uf udsing a spst toggle, to conver it on a guitar and bass distortion, but im not so sure, since c4 has a lot to do on that.

these is a million pedals that can work good with bass, especially fuzzes, why do you want to use the distortion plus?
c2 is not very much of a problem actually, it cuts some bass but it can be a good thing. i would make c4 at least 1uf.
but the distortion + doesn't have much gain in the end, you may find it not adequate. i would suggest a rat, or a catalinbread SFT, or a fuzz like a big muff without the first pair of diodes.
