Title: V
Post by: pickdropper on April 22, 2014, 12:52:43 PM
This is basically the same as Brian's take on the Mutron V (his Kraken).  I liked the circuit enough that I wanted to shrink it down.

Nice. I might have to change my mind about building one of these.  ;D  Also, I have a small stash of 3080s I need to use on something.

Wow, continually cramming tone with through-hole parts into the 1590A.  Impressive, to say the least.  I can see why you went with the CA3080 vs a LM13700 based on size restraints.  Always makes my head spin when I see one of your tiny, tidy layouts.  Excellent work!

Actually, these won't be offered for sale.  Brian did some development work on the Kraken, and this is really just a smaller version of his design.  I'd encourage everybody to build it as it's a cool circuit, but I feel people should buy his board.

Impressive as always!

But Brian's doesn't fit in a 1590A, and it would look so good next to the Zen Drive, Minitaur and Reverb I got from you :)

I totally understand where you are coming from, not wanting to take any business from Brian.

I don't know if I would be considered a commercial builder or not.  I've built for others, but the majority of my build reports are things I did for me or close friends.

Function f(x) is the more dedicated commercial venture.

That is awesome, sweet layout, and love the color.  I know I've sworn I'm not doing any more thru hole boards, but I'd make an exception for that one, if they were for sale!

If you do decide to sell one (or have extra's you need to get rid of), I am definitely in for one

Yeah, I'll do that.

I need to pick up a second PT Nano.  I'm getting tired of moving things around so much on the one I've got.

Do it. I have 2, and I'm thinking about getting a third nano. For $60, they're a no brainer. Little bit of daisy chaining and you're off to the races.

I totally agree.  It's a foregone conclusion that it will happen, it's just a matter of when I actually pull the trigger.

Here you go, Jason.  It's the board as it stands today.  It could be different tomorrow.

Never mind booteekers, he can put ANYONE's builds to shame. That board is beyond awesome.

It should be carried around on a velvet cushion by naked vestal virgins and only the worthy should be allowed to look upon it. Only the truly righteous would be permitted to stomp upon it.
