Title: New material suggestions
Post by: wolfingsworth on April 22, 2014, 04:06:51 AM
Okay, so I have been obsessed with all things guitar since I was six years old. That being said I am not very creative and sometimes have a short attention span. This leads to very short practice sessions for me. I need some new material! Anybody know of some good/free resources for learning new songs and techniques? I just want to sound like Brian Setzer, SRV and Mark Knopfler. That isn't that hard right?

I learnt sultans of swing (youtube) a few years back and it got me into playing with my fingers.  Really enjoyable song to play, takes a bit of patience though.

Jon (midwayfair) has a great lil series of YouTube vids on his technique of finger picking. Its worth a watch.

I think he used sultans of swing as an example. 8)
