Title: Any real difference between Aquaboy delay chips?
Post by: maysink on May 21, 2010, 04:15:54 PM
Hey, all. Thinking of tackling the aquaboy and I'm fishing for opinions on the uber-mojo MN3005 vs. other (MN3205, v3205) options. Is it worth the time & $$ to track down a 3005 or is it just bragging rights on a few pedal forums?

Much more expensive, but they can be run at a higher voltage, which in this case allows for higher headroom and increased clarity.  Not really important, but I'm of the opinion that if you're going to build an analogue delay, you may as well go all in and build the best one imaginable.  Otherwise, you may as well buy one  ;D
It'd probably be cheaper...

The Memory Man runs its BBD @ -15v, IIRC. And that's part of the magic, or so they say.
