Title: Osmium (Dragon Armor/Tight Metal clone)
Post by: chuckbuick on December 21, 2013, 04:30:45 PM
Howdy fellas.  Another build that wouldn't have happened for me if not for the good people of the MB forum.  It's pretty much straight from the schematics and info JOK3RX posted for the Dragon Armor.  So thanks to him and all the people at FSB that were involved in taking this from a picture of a PCB to a working schematic to a finished build.  The result is I have a new favorite metal pedal.

I was doing a couple 18v layouts so I also did up a little voltage-doubler board.  ICL7660 on one side and LT1054 on the other with spots for regulators for 12 or 15 volts.

That looks amazing and I agree that the Dragon Armour sounds damn nice as well!

But the thought of all that SMD work... eeeek!

It wasn't too bad.  I like the trade-off of not having to bend and clip leads.

Im not sure if this makes me want to take a stab at SMD or run farther from it.

Crazy clean build. Great job.

I do not.  But OSHPark does.  I've posted a link and docs over at BYOC.  Thanks again for the kind words, guys.
