Title: Anybody ever used a J310 JFET transistor for anything?
Post by: kothoma on November 23, 2013, 08:01:54 PM
Um, anybody ever used a J310 JFET transistor for anything?
I guess it could successfully be used for buffers. I'm not very good at reading transistor data sheets. Could the JFET be used for preamp gain stages?

It has 24-60 mA idss. That one needs a lot of power. I never used one with those specs.

OK. Isn't Idss an upper limit? How does it affect the design?

No, you need to run the JFET at its working point and then idss will be in that range.
I just run it through the fetzer valve calculator and it sais gain will be -14dB.

-14dB, that's 80% loss, right?
In other words: bad news.
Now I really wonder what you could use a J310 for.
