Title: FET in a Fuzz Face Q2
Post by: midwayfair on August 28, 2013, 05:47:08 PM
This works ... hilarious. Best with a DGS FET obviously so you don't have to bend things.

Just a PSA from my latest breadboarding adventure.

That's nice. I didn't expect that. Jon, how does the circuit behave now? Is it still sounding like a fuzz face??

Sounds similar to a silicon fuzz face tonally, but close to ge gain-wise. Biasing is finicky, only suitable for trimpot builds. :)

The fellas from pre-RunoffGroove did up an article way back when on using FETs in a Fuzz Face:

Thanks, CJ! I should have known that anything that can be done with a FET probably has by the Runoff Groovers.  :D

Holy crap, this too!

How the heck did I miss these things? I feel like I've read the entirety of all three of those sites five times and there's still stuff I've missed?
