The August issue of Premier Guitar has a good beginners article about how tube amps work if anyone is interested.

Might be hard since Premier Guitar is a magazine. I will have to check it out the next supermarket run this week. Thanks
You can browse the September issue at http://www.premierguitar.com (http://www.premierguitar.com) (upper right of the page).
I briefly browsed but couldn't see the article, I guess the one on the news stands is the October issue? Publishers seem to have a flexible approach to what the current month is.
Doh. It's in the august issue, like the OP said. Must.read.before.posting...

No problem. You are correct, I came by it the old fashioned way, on the newsstand. The only online reference they make is about the schematic for the amp they break down, the Vox AC4. premier guitar.com/AC4-schematic
