Just noticed the price of my beloved Epcos caps has gone from 11 cents to 30 cents :'(
That's a pretty huge difference.
Cheapest 100n box cap now is 22 cents ...
Anyone noticed any other price bumps?
The ones from Josh's group buy 8c in groups of 100, or at least the were a few months ago. How much are the Epcos in bulk?
They're 9 cents each if you buy 100. Common values don't bother me much, but oddballs make up most of my orders these days.
Just saw the TL072 has gone up 10 cents, too.
Not cool.
Ironically the kemets were cheaper to buy in bulk than the epcos for the group buy.
I haven't made an order from them in a couple of months, but Avnet http://avnetexpress.avnet.com/ (http://avnetexpress.avnet.com/) usually has the epcos caps cheaper than Mouser.
The Epcos 100nf are 6.4 cents ea if you buy 100.
They definitely seem to be pushing folks towards buying larger volumes, which was probably inevitable. Nothing profit in a single cap that requires its own bag and label.
Several common (and not so common) values of the Epcos caps are on sale right now at Newark. Prices range from 5 cents to about 9 cents. No minimum quantity.
The regularly have sales on box caps, so look for the "purple P" logo (promotional) in the product listings.
Here's an example:

I've noticed mouser increasing their prices on almost everything over the past several years. Like the Epcos caps, a number of things are now more than double the price that they were only 3 to 5 years ago. Ouch! But I do like their $4.99 residential USPS shipping option. Much better than their UPS or FedEX options.

for me it's the shipping that keeps me coming back. i'm only about an hour up the highway from them so i get everything in a day thanks to the usps option. i can even get stuff on saturdays for dirt cheap (at least as far as the shipping goes). it's really helped me out when i've been in a pinch for parts before. but the price increases are definitely a bit of a bummer for all of us not buying in bulk.
