Title: [JMK and ROG] Companion and Cobra30
Post by: alanp on July 03, 2013, 06:02:59 AM
This report is here because it has non JMK content :)

Run Off Groove English Channel. Decided on Cobra30 because, well, what British company produced the Cobra car? ;)

Extremely gainy. Going to try swapping fets at some stage.

JMK Companion Fuzz. I'm pretty sure I got the pots the wrong way around, but with a pedal this simple it should be easy for whoever's playing to work that out. It's not like the fuzz knob does much at all anyway.

Bloody nice sounding fuzz. Incredibly intolerant of bad chords.

yes, the pots are the wrong way around!

Other than that, yes, this fuzz is pretty much wickedly intolerant of bad playing in general, and chords specifically. I love it.

I could get really anal on this...

AC made the Ace ( which gets the AC30 ref ;) ). Shelby in the states entered an agreement with them to ship over the chassis to them and he dropped in Ford V8s and fettled it to take it racing, calling it the Shelby Cobra. AC did make some Cobras later though, and indeed still do! :P
